This is what probably drove Faust to leaving next to her episode about Scootaloo being handicapped being rejected. Yeah, I went there. Come at me Brony! You can't exactly call her a mary sue when we haven't even gotten a full episode since then. They made Cadence work, so I am still optimistic about Twilight.
Also, the handicapped Scootaloo episode wasn't rejected. She has never said it was anything more than an idea that she had for a possible episode. Actually, it may be on the way, McCarthy said that we will be getting an episode having to do with disabilities in S4. There is a good chance that will be it. I wish I could provide a link, but I can't seem to find where I first read it.
It's too bad that the show has so many changes forced upon it, and I can't blame Faust for leaving, but I still have confidence in the writers to keep producing a quality show. |

Yeah, I read the McCarthy tweet, but that could mean anything from a new character or hell, even Derpy getting a redemption episode.
Faust leaving is one of those things that's so ambiguous, that we'll never know. But whatever it was, you could tell from the Bronydoc interview that she didn't want to leave. It had to have something to do with Hasbro forcing their hand. At least she's working with Mane6 after Fighting is Magic got served a C&D. Not sure if her OCs are going to make up for actually having the shows characters in the game, but with the Skull Girls engine, anything's possible. Hell, they should have just made a MLH fighting game to get around the C&D.
To be completely honest, I was somewhat hoping that the whole alicorn Twilight thing would happen before the end of the show. It was pretty obvious by that point that it was going to happen eventually, and I didn't want it to end without getting to see what happens afterwards. It cam a bit earlier than I originally expected, but it does make me a bit more receptive of it.
I couldn't see them trying to bring Derpy back again after the huge shitstorm the first time, but it's all speculation at this point.
Yep, definitely can't wait to see how Fighting is Magic turns out now. Took me from knowing nothing about Skullgirls to backing the Kickstarter and buying a HORI RAP fightstick (worth every penny, btw). Personally, it was a shame to see how many people lost interest in it just because it wouldn't have ponies in it. Based on the leak, it had some serious potential for a fighting game, even with the FM2K limitations. |

Don't forget the whole Las Vegas Con scandal, where the convention organizers ran off with all the money. That screwed a whole lot of people.
It was an interesting year, but we did get the comic books. I would highly recommend them if you haven't given them a shot. Just as good as the show, with a little bit more creative freedom. They're also a pretty good way to supplement the off season. |
